A Guide To Blogging

HOW TO – BLOGGING EDITION

Never stop learning, never stop trying new ways to improve…

Being a high school senior and writing my fair share of papers, I have found that I sometime struggle with being creative through my writing. As someone who has never written a blog, let alone routinely read blogs, I am going to try my best to make this first one interesting. So please, bear with me.

Curious how to create a blog? Keep reading!!

For starters, in my opinion, it is essential to be authentic when blogging. Share your thoughts and be real with whomever may be reading your blog. The more you give, the more you will receive which brings me to the first step of making a successful blog. According to “Things I Wish I Had Known About Blogging,” the first step to blogging is allowing feedback. Just like in volleyball, an example from my life, you will never improve unless you allow others to give you feedback on where you are at in that moment. If you shut those out who are trying to give you feedback, you will never know your true best work. In volleyball, in blogging, in everything you do – accept feedback, good and bad, because it will lead you to putting out the best version of yourself that can.

When wanting to become a successful blogger, the next steps are to engage with other bloggers and use other social media. This is essential in the way that you need to interact with your readers and fellow bloggers. This is another way of sharing your words and appreciation for things/people. Interacting on other blog posts and other social media also leads to more success as I talked about in the prior paragraph.

Finally when starting to blog, you need to learn and feed your brain. There is a plethora of views and facts on topics all over the world. It is important that you learn about everything you blog about so that your brain is fed correctly and you can properly inform your readers about the topic you are writing on. Read books, papers and magazines, watch the news, listen to podcasts. Taking these actions will allow you to learn and expand your brain so you can have a wide range of thoughts when becoming a successful blogger.

Being a senior in high school with an undecided major, it is apparent to me that whatever career I pursue, I will be helping people. I have always had this undying passion of helping the people around me. In the future, I hope that blogs will become useful for me in that I will have the ability to express my mind and help others through my honest words.
